Hot Topics: Homelessness
Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His Head.”
Mathew 8:20 (ESV)
Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Psalm 90:1 (ESV)
Counting tent cities and urban shelters, 300,000+ million people worldwide… are now involuntarily homeless.
Including political refugees and victims of war, drugs, crime, injustice, poverty, and the loss of EVERYTHING.
Counting Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Jesus, Paul, and on-the-road disciples… God’s stars were voluntarily homeless.
They left EVERYTHING familiar to them: their titles, trifles, careers, and comforts; the “security” that most people seek.
Why? To follow their God-given destiny!
I don’t think God hates our beautiful things, but I know He hates things we make idols: anything we seek… MORE than we seek Him!
However,
I’m utterly stunned, chastened, and humbled by the courage of those who are homeless. Most wait stoically and hopefully… for a small corner, a “nest” of their own.
I’m even more humbled by disciples, who leave homes behind to follow Jesus! The least we can do is pray and help them.
3 Crucial Questions:
As Christians, isn’t our safety in Christ?
Isn’t our only REAL home in Heaven?
Then why do we choose “feathered” comfort zones above the battle zones of our callings?
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
As trailblazers, you won’t huddle in church, because your King calls and enables you (by the means of the talents you carry) to attract His lost sheep and lead them HOME!
You lead by example, without judgment, through the challenging trails of media. Therein, continue and don’t get attached to the conceits of accumulation and walls that aren’t safe, but only divide.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
