Leadership: Are YOU Qualified?

If others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!

I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake, I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ…

Philippians 3:4-8 (NLT)

Earlier in this series, we discussed our King’s “unqualified” disciples and how He, Himself, seemed unqualified… by the prevailing religious standards.

But today, 2000+ years later, with God’s Word and Spirit as our Teachers, why have prevailing religious standards once again decided who’s fit to lead?

SIDEBAR: I respect those of you who’ve studied hard for one or more educational degrees, in courses to guide pastors and leaders. Nevertheless, only God can ordain (and His criteria are different:)

Am I qualified to write devotions or lead a movement into media of actors, models, and talent for Christ?

Are you qualified, ready, and able to rise and shine in Entertainment’s fields… as your King’s outstanding ambassadors?

  • Only if Jesus is leading the charge!

  • Only if we’re deep in faith and courage!

  • Only if we continue in THE WORD!

  • Only if LOVE is our chief calling card! (along with peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control)

  • Only if we’re setting good examples!

  • Only if we know the enemy’s game (for both preparation and protection)!

By common standards of church leadership, neither you nor I may be qualified. On the other hand, who wants to be common?

Sure, nothing God designs is common, which enables you and I to proclaim:

‘I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well’ (Psalm 139:14).

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Probably, most of you were raised in church. I hope your parents, pastors, and teachers fed you God’s PURE and UNEDITED Word.

Let’s schedule the time to “eat” It daily. If you weren’t raised in Christ (or if you’ve stopped), I’m living proof that it's never too late to open our minds and hearts for a feast:)

Of YOU, I have absolutely no doubt that you’ve been called for such a time as this!

Leadership: Are YOU Qualified? (Part 10)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God–  to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.

WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
