Leadership: Core Values
“Teacher, which is the greatest Commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest Commandment. And the Second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two Commandments.”
Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)
I am giving you a new Commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
John 13:34-35 (NLT)
I'm simple, so I look for simple things. I'm open, so I trust in open things. I used to dig (as in “like”) worldly things. Today, I only dig for one Treasure: Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Earth’s greatest treasure chest is the Bible!
Even though the Word is free and open,
Even though its summary is simple,
Even though 3 core values sum it up…
Somehow, modern-day Christians still miss it!
Are fancy preachers leading them astray?
Are they confusing the world with the Word?
Are their core values split between the two?
Consider three Gems as Christ’s Core Values:
Love God FIRST and with everything you've got: your mind, muscle, money, focus, and heart.
As you love yourself, love your neighbors, too: those placed before you, with NO exclusions.
Love ALL Christians, despite different rules, customs, cultures, or denominations.
Jesus reaffirmed God’s top 2 Orders, and added a Third. Why? He foresaw our coming faith divisions.
Now we have 1000s of Christian “flavors”, bickering about what’s best and who’s right. But can’t we agree…?
Only One has EVER been best and right!
This infighting makes us unattractive. Outsiders seeking truth and love opt out– not just from the church, but from Jesus, too! Thus, His new Commandment makes perfect sense.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Your mission is to rise above darkness and divisions on a new launching pad: one His former disciples couldn’t know: the eye-catching platforms of media.
He gave you four excellent examples of how to do it (coming tomorrow).
Your core values are ready to be shared!
Leadership: Core Values (Part 11)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God– to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.
WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
