Hot Topics: Introduction

As they continued to ask Him, He stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

John 8:7 (ESV)

There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, He Who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?

James 4:12 (ESV)

Records of the 21st century were previewed by God at Earth’s beginning!

  • He understands every modern issue, and nothing that happens surprises Him.

  • Not Russia, China, or North Korea. No prince, president, or politician.

  • Not school shootings– or our lack of response. Not even modern media’s impact.

God knows our temptations and tragedies.

'That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun' (Ecclesiastes 1:9).

Therefore,

God’s Word is eternally relevant: cutting to the heart of each circumstance and giving invaluable advice.

This devotion series might be called “hot”, as it discusses unsettling topics. They may bother us or get us heated. They may push us out of our comfort zones.

But should we live a comfortable life? Or shall we meet our trials… God's Foot first?

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You’re called to the hotspots of media, where so many of the world’s opinions… smack so many things Christians are preaching.

Please note:

What follows are my interpretations of what I believe Jesus is teaching. You may or may not agree. Either way, take your questions and opinions to God.

If you’re tempted to condemn anyone on anything you feel strongly about, remember you’ll never go wrong with love, and God (speaking through Paul) clearly states: ‘What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?’ (1 Corinthians 5:12).

If you’re judging someone inside the church, do so gently, humbly, and privately.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.

WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
