Dream Haters: The Importance Of Dreams

in the last days, it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Acts 2:17 (ESV)

Where God is concerned, our dreams are precious:

  • Abraham dreamed of a great Covenant.

  • Joseph dreamed that men would bow down to him.

  • Jacob dreamed of a heavenly ladder.

  • Moses dreamed of reaching the Promised Land.

  • David dreamed of Israel’s victory.

  • Solomon dreamed of Israel’s splendor.

  • Isaiah dreamed of Israel’s glory.

  • Jeremiah dreamed of Israel’s fall.

  • Daniel explained Nebuchadnezar’s dream.

  • Father and Son dreamed of mankind restored.

At one time, these dreams seemed impossible. In due time, they became reality.* Because dreams are more than sleepy stories. They’re our hopes, visions, callings, and orders.

We might call the Bible a Dream Book. It contains the Lord’s dream of a new world, and the real-life stories surrounding it. His Dream became our inauguration. If an inauguration is a start, our Father dreamed us into existence.

By design, we (His children) look like Him. Also by design, our Dad gave US dreams:

  • Visions of a life lived to the fullest,

  • Callings that will multiply our talents,

  • Orders we are duty-bound to fulfill,

  • And promises of futures filled with hope!

In God's Book are ordinary people with extraordinary dedication. His dreamers became miracle makers: mountain movers, who revealed His Kingdom. Their Excavator? His Holy Spirit: the Transformer of mountains to molehills.

In God's Book is the Ultimate Hero: His only Son, Who dreamed of OUR success. He would forsake both His Crown and His Life to make this dream come true, and so it did.

In God's Book are selfish power-grabbers: villainous pawns in the grip of Satan. These scoundrels became miracle breakers: mountain builders who covered God’s Kingdom. Their primary building material? The skeletons of OUR forgotten dreams.

In God's Book is the ultimate villain: Lucifer, who dreamed of his own success. He would forsake both God and His Kingdom to make this dream come true, but it did NOT.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

We know the devil’s long-term dream WILL FAIL! But his short-term dream is to kill YOUR dream, so let’s work together to “kill” his plan!

Step One to stop him?

Cherish your dreams AND the dreams of others.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

* Isaiah’s dream of Israel’s ultimate destiny has not yet happened, but it surely will.
