Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 19:31 (ESV)*
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV)*
Even when people don't believe in God, most do believe that “something is out there”: something powerful and invisible; a compelling, supernatural force...
Like magic, sorcery, precognition, witchcraft, horoscopes, or fortune-telling.
On the bright side are brave superheroes. Entertainment loves magical stories.
Cartoons leap beyond paper comic books into bigger-than-life, marvel-ous films– that fascinate and inspire countless fans.
On the dark side are vampires and monsters, who aim to “delightfully” frighten us.
But are these imaginary devils, most often “vanquished” at each story’s end… mere distractions from our real foe, Satan, who seeks to control and destroy our lives?
On God’s side are Jesus and His Spirit. The Lord is dead-set against dark magic.
Unless a “miracle” glorifies God, it glorifies the devil (or people). Therein, it's a misleading distraction from the TRUE supernatural Hero.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
What should you do about “magical” roles, since they’re everywhere in film and TV?*
Should you immediately turn them down?
If you do, will it hurt future bookings?
BUT, BUT…didn’t Christ send us to “the world”?
Please consider some recommendations:
First and foremost, pray about every role: faith-based or mainstream. The Lord will guide you, and He knows precisely where you’re needed.
God’s performers have different callings to different genres, stages, and sets, so don’t judge the choices of fellow saints.
In terms of supernatural castings (or any good versus evil story), make sure that evil gets its comeuppance!
Bottom line:
Do what the Lord tells you to do. Always. Go where the Lord tells you to go. Always. Stop when the Lord tells you to stop. Always. He’ll answer you about possible roles, while giving you His peace and protection.

* Certainly, the decision about every role is between you and God. That being said, I believe the Bible sternly warns about 2 things: 1) Practicing witchcraft or magic, 2) Consulting “mediums” for questions you have (or help).
I believe a more appropriate question to ask in “magical” castings is… does it glorify evil, (as in evil supernatural forces or any obviously dark storyline), making something destructive look fun and desirable.
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
