Leadership: Twisted Truth

A time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT)

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News, but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Galatians 1:6-7 (NLT)

Can the Truth of God (the Word) be twisted? Absolutely not. The Spirit of Truth can NOT be conformed to the images or visions of men.

Instead, our Lord’s Holy Spirit seeks to transform us into Images of Christ… and the glorious visions of His Mind.

God is the Transformer Who UN-twists lies.

'But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord' (2 Corinthians 3:18).

BUT… the devil can twist a crown of lies and make it look like God MIGHT have said it. Before we know it, strange barbs (words and thoughts)… dig into our brains and harm our values.

Here's a sobering fact: The Truth is hard. It's beautifully and perfectly Hard. If you're not sure, read every Blood Red Word of Christ in your handy, dandy Bible.

It washes us clean and goes to our hearts, growing what’s good and severing what’s bad.

'For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart' (Hebrews 4:12).*

How can you know if preachers twist the Word? One warning sign would be “sticky” sweetness. (Its artificial ingredients can make frequent eaters weak and complacent.)

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

  • 'Arise and go to the street called Straight' (Acts 9:11).

  • 'Strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed' (Hebrews 12:12-14).

An underlying theme of your mission in arts, entertainment, and media is to straighten out misunderstandings (in church and the world) by walking in Truth!

Leadership: Twisted Truth (Part 19)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God–  to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.

WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
