Leadership: Unwilling to Yield To…

Then the devil took Him to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple.

“If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “’He will command his angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

Matthew 4:5-7 (NIV)

Yielding to God is wise and strengthening. Yielding to Satan is dumb and deadly.

Few people bow down to Satan willingly. But ‘The tempter’ (Matthew 4:3) and 'The father of lies' (John 8:44) is the ultimate master of disguise.

The shocking truth of his identity is a subtle and gradual reveal...

  • Patiently, he woos you like a dream date.

  • He’s suave and remarkably attractive.

  • He says exactly what you want to hear.

  • He knows your weak spots and your heart’s desires,

  • He can work through proxies: people you trust.

Satan offers friendships, flattering words, easy paths, cool stuff, and fast promotions. In return, he asks “a small” compromise. But that handshake soon becomes a death grip.

Glory be to God, 'The Deliverer' (Romans 11:26) came IN PERSON to set the captives free.*

Even so, don't dare to tempt your Father– by agreeing to “dance” with the devil. Don't carelessly make dangerous choices and think God should “fix” your willful mistakes.

In Christ’s 40-day wilderness trials, test #2 was a star temptation. YOU may face a similar temptation.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

As Christ’s ambassadors with His Spirit, you, too, are called to set the captives free.

How?

  • With an infinitely better offer.

  • With love, kindness, and unselfish service.

  • With a Key to joy that can’t be stolen.

  • With rising and shining a WHOLE NEW WAY!

But…

In the worldly fields of entertainment, never step away from God's protection. EXPECT that Satan knows all your weak spots. Therefore, learn his tactics to outwit him!

To Satan’s ploys, stay unwilling to yield.

Leadership: Unwilling to Yield To…? (Part 18)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God–  to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.

WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
