Leadership: An Inconceivable Example

Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!

Romans 11:33 (NASB)

The life of Jesus was a setup job. He played the low Man Who rose to the top. God’s strategy was inconceivable.

As Father and Son planned, Satan was stunned, Jerusalem’s smartest men were stymied, and those who walked His exceptional path were set up to live a life of wonder!

So let's recap our Model’s Example:

  1. Jesus was born to a humble family in a small town where nothing much happened… to be a carpenter (like His stepdad). His mother's reputation was tainted. His stepdad came from the line of David, but it was many centuries ago.

  2. Jesus wasn’t handsome, never married, and lived in the village of Nazareth. He didn't own much and did no wonders (until He was baptized by His cousin). When He did receive God’s Spirit and strength. He still deferred to God in everything!

  3. Jesus chose questionable disciples, without apparent qualifications. He washed their feet, cooked their food, and forgave their sins… even when they abandoned Him. He told them to walk in faith, follow Him, deny themselves, and serve others humbly.

  4. Jesus submitted to worldly leaders and followed both Roman and Jewish laws. His fanciest ride was a donkey’s foal, but most of the time, He traveled on foot. When He was mocked, beaten, and crucified, He never complained or questioned His fate.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Your assigned job is to look like Jesus. So remember, He chose to be born, grow, preach, teach, heal, serve, and die a humble Man: without beauty, wealth, or worldly status.

When He became famous in Israel, the King of kings still lived as a Servant. He never sought the approval of men, but DID always seek to please His Father.

How Jesus lived was inconceivable to all the authorities of His Day. It’s equally inconceivable now. Even so, He remains our Example.

For your roles in the fields of media, major league games have rules and “uniforms” you must know and show to gain position.

BUT off-stage… look and act like your Teacher. God knows you’ll make mistakes. Just keep trying!

Leadership: An Inconceivable Example (Part 8)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God–  to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.

WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
