Leadership: A New Order
God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.
1 Corinthians 1:27-29 (NIV)
Our Captain’s first disciples included simple fishermen, everyday tradesmen, a fighting zealot, a thieving traitor… and a detestable tax collector.
Jesus clearly loved Mary Magdalene, previously plagued by seven demons. Also Paul, a Christian persecutor, who would become a Christian pioneer.
By human standards, none of these people seemed likely or qualified to become the Captain of Savation’s first-round picks… UNLESS we reconsider HIS story:
He 'Made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant' (Philippians 2:7).
Jesus was born in a lowly stable of Bethlehem, a negligible town, to a girl who was publicly disgraced by her pregnancy outside of marriage.
Joseph (who would marry her anyway) was a carpenter, who would teach Jesus the same trade… which He worked dutifully. God’s Christ waited 30 years to step up!
Surely, God chooses unlikely leaders. What men consider “crowning” achievements mean less than nothing on His value scale. Jesus Christ, ‘The Lamb of God’ (John 12:31), redefined the qualifications for leadership.
His followers 'Turned the world upside down' (Acts 17:6), because things we think will move us “up” WON’T! Only God and His way are truly UP!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Learn and embrace your Captain’s NEW ORDER.
Take lower roles, and He'll lift you higher.
Be patient, because He’s always on time.
Admit your weakness, and He'll be your strength.
Entertainment VIPs love newness, and this movement is marvelously new. An unprecedented door has opened.
Be courageous and keep walking forward! Therein, leadership is your destiny.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God– to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.
WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
