Beginnings: Your New Body
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)
Everybody loves to see a makeover: the remodeling or restoration of something that’s “old” into something new. Aren’t new shows a celebrity focus?
Being camera-ready is a must!
Their trending style is what others follow!
Each fresh look shows their versatility!
But should we focus on appearances? No! And yet, we should be aware of them!
Didn’t Jesus tell us to be savvy? To know all the enemy’s devices? To respect the rules of foreign cultures, while maintaining our focus on The Truth? To win good roles and point our fans to Christ?
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Remember the Lord’s transfiguration: 'His Face changed' (Luke 9:29). It 'Shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light' (Matthew 17:2).
Did God’s only Son get a makeover? Surely not, but it WAS a great reveal!
What if God’s performers have great reveals?
What if we stay fit and our faces shine?
What if we wear cool clothes and gentle smiles?
What if we all, 'Beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory' (2 Corinthians 3:18)?
Imagine the amazement of our friends. Surely, they would ask, 'How did you do it?' We might say, 'By the Spirit of the Lord' (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Certainly, some of them would ask for details. Kindly, we’d answer, and sum it all up: 'We did our best, and the Lord did the rest, because makeovers are His specialty.'
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Lost sheep (fans) need to see your great reveal. Therefore, keep your exterior polished to reflect your glowing interior. Because IN YOU is the Spirit of God.
So help His Light shine throughout your temple. If your body needs more care, polish it. Love it like priests loved Solomon's Temple.
Because the Word says, you ARE God’s new priests… and that your bodies ARE His new temples.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God– to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.
WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because they’re often misinterpreted out of context. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
