Americans are full of opinions, and I reluctantly confess, “me, too”:( You might be thinking, “What’s wrong with that?” WELL…
If our minds are filled to overflowing with our own thoughts/passionate opinions, often based on what we’ve seen, read, or heard by whatever influencers we like, how can we be filled with ‘The Mind of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 2:16)?
‘Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect’ (Romans 12:2).
As I write this, I’m 70 years old. Some consider me an authority on preparing talent to rise and shine. God knows how much I dig into His Word, especially regarding this mission. But at the same time…
I aspire to empty myself of “me”, of my selfishness and self-importance. Both seek to upstage the Holy Spirit and the wisdom our Father freely gives.
However:
As time passes, the less I think I know. Some “opinions” are inevitable, but let’s uproot judgmental opinions. We don’t know enough. NO man knows enough. Not even on gender identity.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Re: Gay people and/or their choices: God loves them with a no-matter-what love, which we must keep striving to imitate.
‘Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things’ (Philippians 4:5-8).
Your main role from Heaven’s Central Casting is to shine as ‘Ambassadors for Christ’ (2 Corinthians 5:20)... which won’t work with a gavel in your hand.
