Hot Topics: Donald Trump &/Or Politics

I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Jown 16:33 (ESV)

What topic is hotter than Donald Trump?* His words heat us up in different ways. His acts are bold and confrontational. He’s (almost) impossible to ignore…

But nothing is impossible for God:), and with His power, we can rise above!

I know Trump supporters and opposers. I have friends and family in both groups. In my best self, I can rise above, too.

In my truest identification, I stand as an ambassador for Christ (which is above all earthly politics).

  • I claim diplomatic immunity… because I'm a citizen of Heaven!

  • I know God appoints (or allows) rulers… for reasons He knows, and we don’t know (yet)!

For actors, models, and talent for Christ,
Our Commander has issued clear guidelines:

  1. 'Seek peace and pursue it' (Psalm 34:14). 'If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men' (Romans 12:18).

  2. 'There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One Who is able to save and destroy... Who are you to judge...?' (James 4:12).

  3. 'Everyone must submit to governing authorities... Those in positions of authority have been placed there by God' (Romans 13:1).

Here’s my confession before God and you. I’ve felt and said too many “heated” words regarding our political leaders.

  • I didn’t seek peace. I didn’t submit.

  • I didn’t unite. I didn’t please God.

  • I didn’t act like or imitate Christ:(

Because He was as silent as a Lamb, when facing the leaders of His Own day: both Jewish and Roman authorities!

To follow your mission in media… although most VIPs are liberal, your fans (the lost sheep you’ve been sent to find) have diverse, unknown backgrounds and viewpoints.

To best reach them, rise above politics. In all regards, including this “hot” one, we’re wisest when we imitate Jesus!

Hot Topics: Donald Trump (Part 18)

* If you’re reading this devotion at some point in the future, and Trump-ism isn’t “a thing”, then remember the history lesson and apply it to your own political “today”, especially if a politician is “out there” that you really don’t like.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.

WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
