Love... Is Generous

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Acts 20:35 (ESV)

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.

Luke 6:38 (ESV)

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.

Proverbs 19:17 (ESV)

Most Christians have heard God's Words on giving.

  • Good pastors and churches depend upon it,

  • As do charities and missionaries…

  • Not to forget all the lives being saved!

Generosity is ordered by God, but not being One to say (and not do)… no one can match God’s generosity… in every conceivable measurement. But never forget the motivation:

True generosity comes out of love!

Pause to consider 3 giving footnotes:

  1. Naive saints can be easily misled. They tithe (and more) to star-studded churches, led by slick, sly, silver-tongued false shepherds. Although naivety is not a sin, God tells us to “test all things” and grow up!

  2. Donating to charities is lovely, but don't neglect person-to-person gifts, which is how our Lord and Example worked. Don’t allow a “veil of separation” divide you from people placed before you.

  3. While God repays our generosity, and the Word explains His banking system– with an above-and-beyond repayment, rewards shouldn’t be our motivation. What should it be? Sharing with souls in need.

Actors, models, and talent in Christ:

Multiplying your talents IS a gift! It’s a gift of your time and attention… to “go fish” for God in a giant sea of lost and lonely hearts seeking guidance, which becomes clear in a world of “fandom”.

What you do with your dollars means something. What you do with your time means so much more.

Love… Is Generous (Part 42)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.

WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
