Love... Is Immeasurable

I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV)

Back in the day, I was a good student. Grades mattered, so I worked to make high marks. I met my former husband in college. His IQ score labeled him a “genius”.

We were proud and gratified by “numbers”.

Our world compares and measures everything, as we try to judge and value ourselves, our accomplishments, and our potential– in terms of…

Jobs, cars, looks, homes, muscle, money, clothing, trophies, titles, social stats, flattery, family background, schools we attended, diplomas we got, certifications, popularity, sports ability, or smooth, amusing, and persuasive words.

These puffed-up pride sticks are good for nothing, except filling ourselves full of hot air, while bursting the hopes and dreams of others, who’ve walked harder paths and feel like failures.

In God’s Eyes, these measurements are foolish. They’re all temporary, not eternal. They won’t survive the Lord’s refining fires.

What will?

What we do (not have) that’s rooted in love! Love is immeasurable, eternal, and found only in unity with God.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

God’s into quality– not quantity… pointedly, the quality of our hearts. In that measurement, love is limitless: His for us; ours for Him, and for neighbors!

So don’t let numbers define your success: not followers, auditions, or bookings. Success grows and glows in measureless love.

Love… Is Immeasurable (Part 47)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.

WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
