Love... Is Covering
He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 91:4 (ESV)
Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered
Romans 4:7 (NKJV)
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (NASB)
When we commit our lives to King Jesus, His Blood-stained death cleanses and covers us. This merciful, marvelous miracle can’t be fathomed by our limited minds.
We live in thanks and awe, without fully understanding the process– or the cost. We know it was high. We know it was hard. We also know we are loved, saved, and safe!
In the meantime, while we’re here, every time we do (or THINK) something God says is wrong, like…
Fret over something, envy someone's stuff,
Say an unkind word, make a selfish move,
Sneak a naughty look, buy frivolous things,
Ghost a commitment, hold onto a grudge,
Tell the smallest lie, spread idle gossip,
Call a man a fool, overfill ourselves,
Glorify ourselves, or sin “a little”...
We get dirty and unworthy... again! But Christ covers us... again and again, because His love and mercy never end.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
How can you and I repay Him? We CAN’T. But we CAN obey Him and copy Him. Consider 3 ways some “Christians” don’t.
We CAN walk out our destinies with love, being lights in the world (not just in church). As His performers, you’re well on the way!
We CAN be more mindful in words and deeds, asking THAT question, “What would Jesus do?” Let’s ASK HIM before following the crowd.
We CAN be discreet and cover others, by not listening or spreading gossip and befriending people who’ve been ridiculed.
We can cover them with borderless love.
Love… Is Covering (Part 35)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
