Love... Is Courageous
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 John 4:18 (ESV)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
Christians are called to show storm-denying, death-defying, fear-decrying courage!
Because we’re God’s spiritual soldiers (presently stationed in human bodies)... in the midst of a crazy, war-torn world.
Because He gave us a Great Commission: an outward bound order to help people… especially unaware civilians.
But didn’t our Captain already win? Yes, and for Spirit-filled saints, Satan lost! Nevertheless, he’ll tempt us to forget our talents and what we MUST do with them!
Which is why we need to dress for success, putting on the armor of God DAILY. The real war is for the unprotected: the poor, lost, lonely, and prodigal sheep!
Basically, we have a clean-up job: cleaning up a confusing smear campaign, causing God’s sheep to wander from the Truth. Therein, remember:
We’re NOT fighting people or governments. Instead, we’re resisting Satan’s army, holding victims captive in countless ways.
So we circle Earth in courageous love, helping everyone we can, every day– by spreading hope, light, and the best of news.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Unlike far too many modern Christians, you do NOT cower in homes or churches, fearing failure or trials on God's path, because THE GREATER RISK IS COWARDICE.
In your valiant quest through media’s fields, seemingly searching for bookings and work, you’re actually searching for the lost! (and aren’t they the ones Jesus came to save?)
Love… Is Courageous (Part 34)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to be models of Jesus. We all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
