Dream Haters: Shine Shaders

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday.

That you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…

Philippians 2:18 (NKJV)

Jesus is 'The True Light' (John 1:9), 'The Sun of Righteousness' (Malachi 4:2), and 'The Light of the world' (John 8:12)...

But He gives us a similar title, along with a BIG responsibility!

‘You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven’ (Matthew 5:14-16). 

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Shining happens by reflecting Jesus! But let’s consider what must happen FIRST. If we want our cars to sparkle brightly, we’ve got to clean and polish them OFTEN. It requires effort and repetition… to help our vehicle reflect the sun.

It’s the same for our human “vehicle”: the traveling temple of our body:  'And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His Image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, Who is the Spirit' (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Without a doubt, you've got star potential, and 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) WANTS TO FLIP YOU and use it for himself. But you’re in Jesus, and that won’t happen!

Here’s a far more common danger for you! The biggest “shine shader” is your church roof! You must be OUTSIDE to reflect the Son. Your mission (and mission field) is the world!

Therefore…

Don’t contain or cover God’s Light in you! Satan may be satisfied with this choice, but the Source and Father of Light are not!

Also…

Don’t let church-sitters scare or dissuade you. Your destiny is rising and shining. Christ WILL protect you while you reflect Him!
