Christian Pitfalls: Apathy
They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
Ephesians 4:18 (ESV)
When Christians snuggle up and settle down, when a love walk loses its momentum…
A deadly heart condition starts to grow: APATHY– a hardening of the heart, which is manifest as indifference, toward…
Other Christians beyond their small circle.
Lonely, needy neighbors (even online!)
Wayward sheep, prostitutes, and prodigals.
Hungry, thirsty, naked, and sick people;
Strangers, immigrants, and convicts in jail.
Jesus said, 'The love of many will grow cold' (Matthew 24:12). Even believers. Why?
Without the moving fire of the Spirit, even Christian hearts can turn cold--and hard.
Because faith is a walk, love is a verb…
And righteousness in Christ requires practice.
'Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God' (1 John 3:10).
Consider apathy’s definition: 'lack of feeling or emotion; lack of interest or concern; indifference' (Merriam-Webster).
'So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My Mouth' (Revelation 3:16). God will 'Punish the men who are settled in complacency' (Zephaniah 1:12).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Be zealous! 'Fervent in Spirit, serving the Lord' (Romans 12:11).
Withdraw from lukewarm churches like a plague.
In His Letters to the Seven Churches,
The Lukewarm Church concludes Christ’s indictments.
Are we in the last times Jesus detailed?
Passion for Christ will save us from a fall. It can be seen in how we treat others. Carry this passion with you everywhere--notably through entertainment’s vast field!
'But now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have' (2 Corinthians 8:11).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
