Who Do People Say That I Am? Prior Heroes
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, 'Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?' So they said, 'Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.'
Matthew 16:13-14 (NKJV)
I’ve been told I look like Diane Keaton.* I’ve been told I look like “somebody’s” friend. But the one look-alike I long to hear?
'I see Christ in you.'
Consider it: To see God in a waiting room, boardroom, classroom– or the check-out line in Walmart… would be amazingly unusual. But it shouldn't be.
Christians are in those places every day. We should look more like Jesus… as we progress from glory to glory.
Is the King of Glory seen within us?
Or is Jesus tucked away in our hearts…
And only released on Sunday mornings?
But can Almighty God be tucked or bound?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Still, He can remain unheard and unseen in the rush of our noisy-busy lives. Because the broad path is NOT where He is!
What’s even worse? When we follow the crowd, we start to look like the crowd– and not Him. Going with the flow is a temptation. Looking like they look, acting like they act… are inevitable consequences.
During our King’s in-Person ministry, the people who saw Him saw something new! They compared Jesus to previous stars. But soon they realized… He surpassed them.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: Like Jesus, you will surpass other stars! Specifically, in media’s fields. With your talent? Not necessarily. Then how?
By your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control! You…
‘Who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His Image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, Who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18).
‘For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the Image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren’ (Romans 8:29).
Who Do People Say That I Am? Prior Heroes (Part 4)
NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
