The Bread Of Life: Feeding Your Family & Friends
Today salvation has come to this house.
Luke 19:9 (NKJV)
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household.
Acts 16:31 (NKJV)
Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James 5:16 (NKJV)
Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.
Acts 10:4 (NKJV)
How much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
Luke 11:13 (NKJV)
The conclusion of Luke’s talk about Bread in Luke 11:13 startled me. In a big AHA! moment, it thrilled me!
Clearly, if Jesus is the Bread of Life, then much of the Bread talk in the Bible is about Jesus. If the Father, Son, and Spirit are One, then the Bread talk is about salvation. I believe…
The Parable of the Friend at Midnight says that our loved ones can and will be saved.
How many saints fret for their families?
But instead of fretting, let's keep praying. He hears us, and answers at the right time!
Recall our King’s grueling crucifixion. In Luke's account, one of the criminals hanging by Jesus received salvation: 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise' (Luke 23:43).
Truly, salvation can come at any time, even on the last day or final hour!
In The Parable of Vineyard Workers,* the servants hired at the 'Eleventh hour' (Matthew 20:9)... received equal pay (as in SALVATION) to those who sweated 12 long and hard hours (as in lifelong believers in Jesus).
The workers complained: 'These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day' (v.12). The landowner explains: 'Friend, I have done you no wrong... I wish to give to this last man the same as to you' (v.13-14).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: Stay hopeful! The moment of salvation for our beloved family and friends may happen at their own eleventh hour. Even at death’s door, they can meet Jesus and receive the gift of eternal life. Praise God for His Word! I believe they will!
'All things are possible to him who believes' (Mark 9:23), 'For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost' (Luke 19:10). 'Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him,' (Revelation 19:7), because ‘The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much’ (James 5:16).

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
