Matthew 16: The Hell Storming Church*
You are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
When Christ, the Captain of our salvation, said that the gates of hell would not prevail against Peter and the newly formed church…
But, He guaranteed YOUR victory, too, and it’s not a “sit-and-wait” kind of win; not a thick-walled, high-roofed church kind of win; not just a Jesus-freed-me kind of win...
Instead, it's a hell-storming power push:
A daring offensive counterattack,
A perfectly-equipped frontal assault,
A Sword-of-the-Spirit cut-through-the-crowd,
A bombardment of unequalled power...
To blast the gates of hell off their hinges,
And overcome Satan’s weakened death grip.
On whom?
Not on you, because you're already free by following your never-lose Captain. You're free because of your will-not-fail faith. Jesus bought your liberty with His Life.
On “civilians”, Earth's unaware victims, caught in the crosshairs of satanic guns. They’re wounded, unarmed, tied-up prisoners of a war they’ve not been prepared to fight.
But you ARE prepared! In the power of the Holy Spirit, in the brilliance of His Great Commission, you've been called to 'Fight the good fight of faith' (1 Timothy 6:12).
If the gates of hell can't resist your charge, you're like your Captain’s Navy Seal Team 6: entering enemy territory and leading all who follow to freedom.
The risk to you from Satan is NO RISK, because the Lord of Hosts is on your side. The real risk is for Christians staying home. Are they in dereliction of duty?
Matthew 16: The Hell-Storming Church (Part 14)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God– to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.
WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
