Love... Is Kind
Love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Luke 6:35 (ESV)
If love is the opposite of hatred, and kindness opposes hostility, then lovingkindness wins every battle!
Kindness is more than a polite answer. It's a genuine desire and attempt to make another person’s day brighter...
Especially when he or she seems stressed, sad, shy, lonely, depressed, or needy.
It's asking a newcomer out to lunch.
It's bringing a meal to those who can’t cook.
It's visiting invalids and inmates.
It's taking the time to write thank-you notes.
It's stopping to help someone in trouble.
It's standing up for those who are bullied.
It’s treating service people with respect.
It's smiling with heartfelt warmth in your eyes.
My pastor in Atlanta (George Dillard)* shared a story of “knock-on-door” visits, long ago as a brand new preacher.
One day, he met a very angry man, who cursed George and ordered him off his porch. George remained kind and apologetic. (As he was leaving, he laid his card down…)
Some months later, the very angry man became a repentant church-attender. He later said… when George knocked on his door, he was sitting with a gun in his hand–planning to end it all on that same day.
George's “no-matter-what-you-do” kindness brought a new thought to the angry man’s mind: “Maybe there IS one nice guy in the world.”

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to models of Jesus, and we all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
