Love... Is Adoptive
God decided in advance to adopt us into His Own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.
Ephesians 1:5 (NLT)
You received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His Own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Romans 8:15-16 (NLT)
Unlike the science of natural birth (wonders hidden in the human body), adoption is open. It's intentional. It's a warm and generous decision that offers hearts and homes to the homeless: unanchored wanderers looking for love.
If we weren’t born into Abraham’s line, then by the Blood of Christ, we’re adopted! We’re called, chosen, and raised by God Himself!
The world’s Creator chose to adopt us, because we chose to believe in His Son! What a divine, life-changing mystery. We’re now loved beyond any reckoning. We have family on Earth and beyond!
Our kinship-through-Christ status… endows us with gifts and supernatural power. It also carries responsibility: a duty that varies with our callings.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
What doesn’t vary for any Christian?
We’re commissioned to pay God’s love forward! As His kind, inviting ambassadors, we represent the Ultimate Father and a family that’s still adopting!
The duty to communicate God's love (known by loving our neighbors as ourselves) COMPELS US to be about His business: to welcome every lonely, aching heart!
Where can you find them? Looking at their phones– searching the stars to find a family. (Think of “Swifties” and other groups of fans, who relish their virtual “families”.
You represent the best of families, more loving and more real than anything!
Love… Is Adoptive (Part 28)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to models of Jesus, and we all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses because they‘re often taken out of context and misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
