Love... Never Fails
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Lover never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:7-8 (ESV)
Bodies, beauty, riches, and knowledge fail.
Business, buildings, and men’s best-laid plans fail.
Governments, presidents, and pastors fail.
Agreements, promises, and “sure-bets” fail.
Armies, heroes, weapons, and treaties fail.
Marriages, families, and friendships fail.
Prophecies and spiritual gifts fail.
Before we get too gloomy, let's remember: Almost everything is destined to fail.
'Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow' (Psalm 144:4).
'The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever' (1 John 2:17).
What’s God’s will for us? In faith, to follow and obey His Son! What happens if we mess up? We fess up! (BTW: It’s not an “if”, but a “when:)
‘The Lord will perfect that which concerns me’ (Psalm 138:8).
‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness’ (1 John 1:9).
‘Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ’ (Philippians 1:6).
Here’s MORE great news!
Living with the King of kings in Heaven! New bodies. A new Earth. Eternal life. No predators. No crimes or injustice. No sadness or pain.
More immediate news!
Available to us right here and right now: Love moves mountains and resuscitates hearts. Most of us have seen unexplained wonders.
Here's the tragic part:
People can forget the power of love and focus on the bluster of bullies... huffing and puffing on our daily lives. So let's remind ourselves and each other…
'Thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ' (1 Corinthians 15:17)... since love never fails.
Love… Never Fails (Part 25)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re all called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re all called to models of Jesus, and we all have gifts, talents, and a commission to multiply them in the world for His glory.
P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend DAILY BIBLE READING.
WARNING: Don’t focus on your favorite verses, because taken out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
