Christian Pitfalls: Lack Of Hope
‘I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’
Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB)
Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Proverbs 23:18 (ESV)
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast, and one which enters within the veil.
Hebrews 6:19 (NASB)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you…
1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)
If ‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for’ (Hebrews 11:1), think of hope as a “building block” of faith.
When we are hopeless, then we are faithless.
When we are faithless, then we are godless.
GOD FORBID we should ever be hopeless!
All this being said,
Aren’t our hopes tied directly to our dreams? The (as yet) unseen desires of our hearts?
Therefore,
When family and friends “hate” on our dreams,
When their clouds of doubt rain on our parades,
GOD FORBID we believe them and give up!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Avoid dream-haters like the plague they are. If they’ve labeled you or your dreams “foolish”, pray for them, because they’re in deep danger: ‘Anyone who says, “You fool!” will be in danger of the fire of hell’ (Matthew 5:22).
Why do they face such a harsh penalty?
Because they’re hating hopes and dreams FROM GOD!
Because ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life’ (Proverbs 13:12)!
Because sick and sad hearts can prove fatal!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Clinging to hope is clinging to Jesus! Grip tightly to both– no matter the cost.
‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope’ (Romans 15:13).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
