King Saul: Tragedy
When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean, and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.
Matthew 12:43-45 (NIV)
For those of us who have all five senses, along with freedom and ease of movement, disability is a scary thought.
I consider the specially abled, those who push through physical challenges… role models and stars, worthy of esteem! They exhibit “no-what-what” courage!
That being said, what used to scare me more (and hit close members of my family) were harmful mental disabilities: depression, anxiety, and breakdowns. Would I be “nabbed” by illness of the mind?*
King Saul was inarguably insane. Fearful delusions haunted his kingship.
Leading up to his life's hard conclusion were pride, selfishness, and bad ideas:
Like sentencing his brave son, Jonathan, to an undeserved, nonsensical death.**
Like being jealous of loyal David, chasing him to kill him for no reason.
Like committing his daughter, David's wife, to another man (which she didn’t want).
Like seeking advice from a medium after banishing them from Israel.
Without a doubt, King Saul's mental illness took control when he moved away from God. This destructive choice… destroyed not just him, but almost all of his own family.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
What God calls “generational curses” are uncomfortable to contemplate. Yet genealogic discoveries confirm DNA “inheritances”: mental, physical, and emotional.
If tough stuff runs through your family line, remember: Jesus came to set us free. Perhaps you should research deliverance.
Ramping these thoughts up to a worldwide scope… are today’s entertainment industries.
Fan devotion has reached “crazy” levels.
Celebrity stars are “chased” senselessly…
Almost like when Saul was chasing David,
Believing things about him that weren’t true).
Are these fans lost lambs in need of guidance? The Truth you carry can set your fans free… releasing them to see and think clearly.
King Saul: Tragedy (Part 9)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
* Praise be to Jesus, I believe this generational curse has been broken in me and my house. Nevertheless, I am painfully aware of the injury mental illnesses can wreak - both in those afflicted and their loved ones.
** The people under Saul did not support Saul's rash sentence toward the day's hero, his son, Jonathan. So, Jonathan did not die that day.
