Goodbye Year! What To Remember
I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all Your works and consider what Your Hands have done.
Psalm 143:5 (ESV)
I will reflect on all You have done and ponder Your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77:12 (MSB)
For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your Hands.
Psalm 92:4 (NKJV)
'Remember' is a theme in the Bible, appearing 230 times–not counting memory, memorials, and God’s warnings about forgetfulness.
We serve a Father Who forgets nothing… except our sins by His merciful choice.
That being said, the Lord is crystal clear:
We can’t forget Him, His Words, or His works. Why? They govern, guide, protect, and inspire us.
Because…
Every day, Satan tempts us to forget God’s narrow path and follow his broad path… running blindly with the herd down a cliff.
What should we DEFINITELY remember from this year– and surely, from prior years?
1) Remember God first and foremost ALWAYS: 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength' (Mark 12:30). Don't give away your heart, soul, mind, and strength to family, friends, fame, fun or fortune.
2) Remember Christ’s transcending sacrifice: 'He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His Wounds, we are healed' (Isaiah 53:5). He can’t be reduced to Sunday worship.
3) Remember His wondrous works in your life: 'Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts... They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness' (Psalm 145:6-7). Share your wondrous overcoming stories!
4) Remember His blessings on those you love. 'The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children, to such as keep His Covenant' (Psalm 103:17-18). The Lord’s blessings are generational.
5) Remember His gracious deliverance… from pain, doubts, debts, and hard circumstances: 'This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the Right Hand of the Most High. I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old' (Psalm 77:10-11).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Your Lord delivers! Then, now, and always: ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever’ (Hebrews 13:8). So don’t be deceived. These Words are also true in your own life.
Therefore,
Remember your old “impossible” tests… and how they turned into testimonies! So will today’s tests– since God doesn't change…
And,
DO talk of His wondrous work in your life, because doing so will KEEP your faith strong and give hope to everyone who hears it!
So…
Don't hide your old self. Don’t hide your old troubles. Instead, compare them to your shiny self--with joy, love, and abundant thanksgiving!
Goodbye Year! What To Remember (Part 3, Conclusion)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
