At Home In Heaven: Living With God
LORD, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.
Psalm 26:8 (NIV)
King David was an all-in believer, who was utterly devoted to God. He expressed his overwhelming passion in every conceivable area:
Reading, writing, asking, fighting, leading…
Praying, playing, pleading, singing, dancing…
Creating, forgiving, petitioning…
And even in venting all of his woes.
David feared God, cheered God, and revered God. He glorified God.
He fought God's enemies,
Heeded God's prophets,
And followed God's king (Saul)…
Even to his own hurt.
David made his desire perfectly clear: He wanted to live with God forever.
'One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the House of the Lord all the days of my life' (Psalm 27:4).
'I will abide in Your Tabernacle forever' ('Psalm 61:4).
'My soul longs, yes, even faints for the Courts of the Lord' (Psalm 84:2).
‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever' (Psalm 23:6).
NOTE:
David didn’t want to wait until death to live with God in His heavenly home. He wanted to live with God on Earth, too!
David was one in whom God’s Spirit dwelled.
'Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward' (1 Samuel 16:13).
For others, like Gideon and Samson, God's Spirit came to them in times of need (but not necessarily every day).
'And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart' (Judges 14:6).
But David, 'A man after His Own Heart' (1 Samuel 13:14)… made grave mistakes, but the Lord did not leave him. Even when David sinned with Bathsheba, God remained--because David repented:
'Do not cast me away from Your Presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me' (Psalm 51:11).
Although surrounded by constant trouble, David and God went through it together!.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
