Ten Commandments For Christian Performers + 1: Walk In Love

A new Commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

For the entire Law is fulfilled in keeping this one Command: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Galatians 5:12 (NIV)

Christ added another Commandment to the ten before it:

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORS!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Who are your neighbors in entertainment?

  • Coaches & mentors: all who’ve helped you rise.

  • Agents who rep you. Clients who book you.

  • Actors, artists: the players on the field!

  • Every person you meet on every set.

  • Fans who see, hear, admire, and follow you.

Because the scope of social media has redefined the meaning of “neighbor,” as in your neighbors can be anywhere!

Therefore, walk in love. These are your Marching Orders from Jesus! 

Too many Christians have left the love walk… to talk the hate talk--while judging others.

(On the other hand, their dismay over negative programs and naughty stars… may be understandable– but their reaction is far from holy… and improperly represents Jesus.)

Therefore, glide into this vast mission field with smiling faces and arms open wide. Touch down to lend a hand– not receive one.

Your Captain and Teacher demonstrated the way to treat your neighbors, near and far.

  • He welcomed outcasts and embraced sinners.

  • He was never too busy or too tired.

  • His target audience was hopeful fans!

His fame was simply a door opener, leading everyone who believed IN Him to live WITH Him in the Kingdom of God.

At this moment in time, you’re His stand-in’s.
