The Armor Of God: The Shield Of Faith

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

The shield of faith is a wondrous defense, and it should be our FIRST LINE of defense. But sometimes, the best among us… FORGET! Therefore, 

  • In our most challenging circumstances,

  • Where dark thoughts mix with Satan’s fiery darts…

  • Or in our everyday annoyances,

  • Where gripes and worries get the best of us…

  • Instead of bouncing off our shields of faith,

  • And falling harmlessly beneath our feet,

  • We trip and end up face-down in the muck–

  • Which SHOULD prompt our prayers, but we FORGET!

For little kids, faith CAN come easily. But for older saints, it can be harder.

What should we do?

  • Humble ourselves and get closer to God.

  • Discipline ourselves to study His Word.

  • Embrace His Word as our Life Preserver.

  • Elevate His Word in every struggle.

  • Walk forward in faith, relying on God.

  • Watch God silence and subdue every threat.

  • Thank Him and cherish the growth of our faith. 

  • Share with others our glorious journey!
